Colo-X Description
The Polish data centre market has to date been dominated by telco owned facilities, but an independent carrier hub became established in the LIM building in central Warsaw, where carriers were literally renting their own rooms and building their own small points of presence. As a result, the LIM building, home to the local Marriott Hotel and a shopping centre, is in fact the country's main interconnection point. It is also now home to the PLIX, the Polish Internet Exchange, a commercial exchange now connecting some 140 members and the PLIX operator has built out several rooms in the LIM building where colocation space is available on a rack or part rack basis (see PLIX DC listing) and they are now looking to launch a much larger carrier neutral facility of 700 sq m further out from central Warsaw later in 2010.
