Colo-X Description
The London colocation market is one of the biggest in Europe and this status is a reflection of both London and the UK's role as a leading network hub as well as the size of the local economy, especially the financial services sector. In terms of networking the UK has a unique role in Europe as one of the main landing points for many North Atlantic submarine cable systems, thus the UK is a major hub for the exchange of data traffic between Europe and North America.
It is becoming clear that the London data centre market can now be seen as a a few distinct markets which we have termed as the Docklands, the original London hub based around London Telehouse, London City, focussing on a cluster of colocation facilities to the north of the City, London's financial hub and finally Park Royal and West London, those data centres based to the north west and west of central London, but still within the M25.
