US Tier1 carrier Level3 have announced that their network into the Manchester market is now independent of their London infrastructure. This is an important point for data centre users locating in the Manchester area as a diverse location to London, as clearly if their underlying network infrastructure remains dependent on equipment in London they won’t be achieving much! This is a point we seek to investigate with many of the data centre facility and operators outside of the London area and it’s a simple question: whilst your facility is diverse of Docklands is your network? (And indeed make sure the diverse capacity meets the full load)!
