Telehouse West is an important new facility for the Docklands market and the first significant increase in capacity here since the 2002 opening Global Switch 2.
At last we have a Docklands based facility offering not only the usual carrier access you’d expect from a Docklands site but also power! Up to 6kW per cabinet is available as standard. Our only concern with West is whether 50, 000 sq ft of net tech will be enough!
Facility Description
The new Telehouse West facility is an eagerly awaited new facility on the Telehouse campus, being only metres from both Telehouse North and Telehouse East. It is the first new build in the Docklands since Global Switch 2 opened in 2002 (which itself is located across the street from Telehouse West).
As is usual in the industry these days Telehouse are adopting a phased approach to opening the building with the first phase comprising two floors of 10, 000 sq ft each and leaving three further floors of the same size to come.
As to be expected with a new site carrier density will increase over time but given its proximity to the two other Telehouse buildings we expect the number of networks available on site to rapidly increase.
