Telehouse parent KDDI have announced a USD$140m investment into new data centre facilities in Beijing, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The Telehouse branded Beijing data centre is expected to open in December 2012, offering a total floor area of 25,000 sq m and is located in the Technological Development Area (BDA).

Telehouse have also announced that their new Hong Kong facility, the CCC, Cloud Computing Centre, a joint venture with HKColo and located in Tseung Wan,  will be expanded by a further 11, 500 sq m.  The Hong Kong CCC opened in early 2011 with an original capacity of 36, 000 sq m.

Telehouse are one of the few true global operators in the carrier neutral colocation market, perhaps easily overlooked as a small part of their huge parent, the Japanese international carrier KDDI, a USD$42bn sized company.  Colo-X has visited all Telehouse sites in Europe, New York and several in Asia including Hong Kong.
