Level 3, 6 Braham Street, London, E1 8EE
Colo-X analysis
The first Level 3 facility in London is located on the eastern outskirts of the City. The site is better suited to clients with smaller colocation requirements than Level 3’s larger Goswell Road facility.
As it is an older site, power is slightly more limited. It hosts a number of trading platforms, so it is most of interest to financial institutions and brokers. The main benefit of the site is access to a Level 3 key network node.
Level 3 Braham Street facility description
The original Level 3 facility in London, this building is located near Aldgate East and Liverpool Street stations, on the eastern edge of the City of London. The converted office building has 8,000 sqm of net technical space arranged over 5 floors, offering cabinets as well as private suites. 2,940 sqm is offered as fully fitted colocation space, the balance used by Level 3 themselves.
The site appeals to a broad range of clients. However, it suits smaller colocation requirements – typically cabinets or 20–150sqm suites (although larger requirements may be accommodated).
As this is an older facility, power is slightly more limited, typically 1kW/sqm (4.5kW/rack).
Until recently, this site was at full capacity. However, recent upgrades have allowed Level 3 to make more space and power available.
Carriers available at the site include Level 3, Colt, BT, C&W, Verizon, Neos, Viatel, Fibernet, Kingston, Thus and Interoute.
