The ANS MaNOC5, 6 & 7 data centre is a secure, self contained complex of 3 adjacent buildings supporting some 2MW of IT load which opened in late 2012. It is one of two data centre sites the Manchester based managed services provider runs on Trafford Park.
As a managed service provider the bulk of the capacity is used by ANS customers with some colocation sold as part of a managed services solution. Overall though the data centre offers a high quality environment.
UKFast merged with ANS in January 2022, both being owned by Inflexion Private Equity and now operates under the ANS name.
Facility description
MaNOC5, 6 and 7 comprise a self contained, secure complex of two adjacent buildings on the Cobra Court business park, located about 5 miles south-east of Manchester city centre and quite close to Junction9 of the M60 motorway and also clsoe to the 230 shops at the Trafford Centre. Equinix’s MA3 and LDeX are about 2.5 miles away. ANS’s smaller MaNOC4 data centre is 300 metres away.
Unit 19 (8 Blackmore Road) is a 6000 sq ft building housing MaNOC 5 and Units 20a and 20b (4 and 6 Blackmore Road) offer a combined 8000 sq ft in a single building divided into two, now housing MaNOC 6 and 7. UKFast purchased the freeholds in January 2012. After purchasing the site UKFast erected secure fencing, vehicle gate and trap and a security lodge.
The three buildings have a 3.5MVA incoming power feed and in total support some 650 racks according to ANS.
