Docklands Data Centre, 5 Greenwich View Place, Millharbour, London, E14 9NN
Colo-X analysis
This small-scale site next door to London Hosting Centre continues to offer an alternative to the ‘big-name’ colocation sites in Docklands. Under the new ownership of Lyca Mobile Group since the end of 2011, 300 racks are available at great pricing. There is a limited direct carrier list, but a dark fibre ring to both LHC next door and Telehouse brings any other carrier within reach. Voice-related services are also available, such as switch port partitions.
Docklands Data Centre facility description
The site was first opened in early 2011 under the ownership of QIComms, who built out the site to house their voice and mobile services as well as offer additional colocation space. When QIComms entered into administration, the site was acquired by businesses connected with Lyca Mobile (note similar branding) at the end of 2011.
The facility is built out over the ground and first floors of 5 Greenwich View Place. It comprises the technical space of two rooms on the first floor, along with 4,000 sq ft of office accommodation that is ideal for DR or as offices for colocation clients. Data Hall 1 offers 200 cabinets, and Data Hall 2 120.
Power per cabinet is 3.5kW/16Amps as standard, but higher densities can be achieved.
