Elasticity, Unit 8, Slough Interchange, Whittenham Close, Slough, SL2 5EP
Colo-X analysis
Elasticity Slough originally opened as Network-i in 2008. This 400 rack/2MW data centre in the middle of Slough had been acquired by Virtustream (2010) and then EMC (2015). It then became part of Dell Technologies following their merger with EMC in summer of 2016 and is now since 2022 back with the original director, Sandeep Sharma, operating as Elasticity. With Dell now largely leaving the site, large scale space is available, as well as racks and part-rack bundles with network and support.
Elasticity Slough facility description
The data centre opened in the fourth quarter of 2008. It is built on a quiet industrial estate in Slough, not far from the railway station. It’s very much Slough town centre as opposed to the trading estate where all other Slough data centres are located.
Total site capacity is 400 cabinets across two equal size data floors/halls of 800kVA each, with 16Amps per rack via A+B power feeds on average. Design philosophy is to a Tier 3 standard, as you’d expect for some of the larger previous owners such as EMC or Dell who were running enterprise-class IT services from this site.
A number of full-service resellers continue to operate in Elasticity Slough and can offer full and part racks combined with network ports and local support.
