Colo-X analysis

LDeX’s Manchester data centre is located a few hundred metres away from the former Telecity Joule House, now known as Equinix MA3. Where Equinix focus on large international customers LDeX will very much suit smaller locally based businesses and wholesale service providers seeking a good quality data centre facility at competitive prices.

The benefit of their longer established and larger rival nearby though is an impressive carrier list of 10 on site carriers in LDeX2. As with their older London site, LDeX1, the LDeX team will suit data centre customers seeking great value and a flexible approach from a smaller, nimble operator and a great option for colocation users wanting a Manchester data centre but who dont need to be in the more expensive ecosystems.

LDeX was acquired by Iomart plc at the end of 2018 but seems to be remaining a fairly independent brand and operation under the Iomart umbrella, whilst benefitting from a significant investment into the LDeX2 Manchester site.
