Node4’s Northampton data centre opened in 2013 and is the Derby based managed service provider’s third regional facility, their largest and newest. Colocation capacity is available across three data halls, the largest of which is 350 racks and was fitted out for service in late 2017. As such Node4’s Northampton data centre represents a high quality regional colocation facility, ideally located for the Midlands market, from a long standing regional operator with a total of over 700 racks available or 3MW of total IT load.
Node4 Northampton facility description
Node4 are a Derby based managed services provider offering a broad range of connectivity, cloud, colocation and collaboration services to the mid-market, targeting companies preferring a single service provider.
The company operates three UK data centres, the original (opened in 2004) and smallest at their Derby headquarters building, offering 300 racks, a second facility was opened in Wakefield in 2009 to provide 450 racks and the latest in Northampton, which is the largest site at 700 racks which opened in 2013. All in all the company now offers some 1500 rack footprints, or nearly 5MW of IT load over 80,000 sq ft of gross space. All facilities are ISO27001 and PCI DSS certified.
The three data centres are home to Node4’s own cloud platform where they provide private cloud solutions on dedicated infrastructure as well access to hyperscale environments across their own network where client needs require it.
Colocation services remain an important part of the Node4 mix, but via a combination of acquisitions and growth its the managed services side of the business that is growing faster, but the company has continued to expand data centre capacity in both this site and their Wakefield data centre.
In Node4’s Northampton data centre colocation solutions from large, dedicated caged areas, racks, half and quarter racks are available in a good quality, modern and efficient facility.
The facility is located on the Moulton Park business park, about 3 miles north of Northampton city centre.
