Servecentric/Digital Realty DUB10 facility description
This was one of the first data centres to open in Dublin. It was originally constructed at the height of the dot-com boom by Worldport, who spent around USD$70m on the site.
When Worldport went into administration in 2001, the date centre was acquired and operated by Servecentric. to Digital Realty purchased the whole facility from Servecentric in 2007, and it became s one of the American operator’s first European data centres. Servecentric have since remained onsite as a tenant in their own dedicated suites since.
DUB10 now offers 5MW of IT load. As well as Servecentric, it houses a few other large-scale customers including several Irish financial services and public-sector institutions.
Due to its longevity, DUB10 is well served by carriers. There are 17 onsite networks including BT, COLT, Lumen, Eunetworks, Zayo, Virgin and Vodafone. Servecentric is also one of only three AWS Direct Connect locations in Ireland.
Servecentric is still privately owned and one of the longest-established managed-service providers in the Dublin market.
