Six Degrees, Anchor and Hope Lane, London, SE7 7SQ
Colo-X analysis
The Six Degrees Greenwich data centre appeals to colocation clients looking for diversity to the City and Docklands data centres. The facility is on different power grids to the City and Docklands-based data centres and located on the south side of the River Thames. It was originally launched by BIS, whose background was selling to financial institutions in the City. BIS were acquired in 2013 by Six Degrees, who have continued to invest in and expand the data centre.
Facility description
BIS acquired this facility and refurbished it to current standards in 2008. It is a light industrial unit located on a small business park near the River Thames. It can offer up to 500 cabinets at 3.5kW each, but higher rack power densities can be offered. The site was approximately half occupied as of 2015.
It will largely appeal to customers wanting a decent-sized and good-quality data centre south of the Thames, or seeking diversity from other traditional London data centres. Six Degrees have continued to consolidate clients here from other London data centres who they have picked up through their active acquisition strategy.
