Telehouse South, Blackwall Yard, 1 Paul Julius Close, London E14 2EH
Colo-X analysis
Telehouse South opened in Q2 2022 and is an important new addition to the Telehouse Docklands campus. With capacity tight across the four existing data centre buildings on Coriander Avenue, Telehouse South will provide welcome new stock for this long established, globally significant network hub, maintaining its position position as the leading connectivity ecosystem in both the UK and Europe.
Expect the usual high quality facility as well as the ability to run standard cross-connects to Telehouse North, East, West and North2 using the new Telehouse campus cross-connect product. Higher power densities per rack than some of the older Telehouse buildings, with 4.5kW per rack as standard.
Telehouse South facility description
Telehouse South is a former Thomspon Reuters data centre that was originally opened in the early ’90’s and is some 300,000 sq ft of gross space. The 15MW of new IT load will be delivered across 6 floors, 2.5MW per floor over 550 cabinets, with one data floor, 668 cabinets, provisioned initially. In October 2023 Telehouse announced a further two floors will be fitted out, expected to be ready for service in the summer of 2024.
Colo-X has partners for secure, dedicated 1/4 and 1/2 racks across the Telehouse campus, as well as options for low power (1-2kW) full racks, that can help to keep costs down. Contact Colo-X for details and availability.
